The Longmeadow Youth Basketball Association (LYBA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to providing every child an opportunity to learn the game, improve their basketball skills, and play in games that are safe and fun. Our programs serve Longmeadow children in Grades 1-8.

LYBA offers two distinct programs:

A Recreational program for boys & girls in Grades 1 – 8, in which everyone makes a team.

• Grades 1 & 2 the program is primarily instructional in nature. SEASON 22-23, the program is likely to operate on Saturday before noon.  Each team will have 1 session per week.
• Grades 3rd through 8th, each team has one practice and one game per week with an official referee at each game.

A Travel Program for boys and girls in Grades 5-8, where players are selected by independent evaluators.

• Travel teams are generally more competitive in nature and require a greater time commitment. 
• There is an additional player fee & uniform deposit in addition to the standard LYBA registration fee.

Additionally, the LYBA sponsors optional clinics and special events such as LYBA nights at the Longmeadow High School games. Information on these events will be posted as well as shared electronically.
